Tompkins
County Public Library will host a free screening of recent box office hit “If I
Stay,” January 19 at 6 p.m., during its first Young Adult Movie Night of 2015.
Based
on the Gayle Forman novel of the same name, “If I Stay” intricately tells the
story of 17-year-old Mia Hall. After a car accident claims the lives of
her parents and brother, a comatose Hall uses observations and memories from an
out-of-body experience to influence whether she will choose to die or “stay.”
Movies
have been selected with a teen audience in mind; however, parents are
encouraged to review ratings of each movie prior to allowing their children to
attend. The Library will not restrict admittance to films based on age or
maturity.
Young
Adult Movie Night is free. Refreshments will be provided.
For
more information, contact Teen Services Librarian Regina DeMauro at rdemauro@tcpl.org, or (607) 272-4557
extension 274.
