LIBRARY TO INTRODUCE AUTOMATED TELEPHONE REMINDER SERVICE

Beginning April 2, 2009, the Tompkins County Public Library will introduce an automated telephone messaging service to notify patrons of overdue items or items on hold.

Library patrons who currently receive notices by mail will now receive an automated phone message when items they have placed on hold have arrived at the Library or when an item they have checked out becomes overdue. This program is designed to provide information to patrons in a more timely manner. Patrons who have provided an email address, will continue to be contacted by email.

After April 2, patrons wishing to update their contact information, or replace their phone number with a valid email address may do so by visiting the Library’s circulation desk. Patrons may also update their information online at www.tcpl.org by logging into their account and clicking the "change account information" button.

For more information about this service, contact Jon Long at (607) 272-4557 extension 263.
