Tompkins County Public Library will host “Dig-in With
Dogs,” a dog-themed performance by storyteller Regi Carpenter, June 28 at
2 p.m. in TCPL’s BorgWarner Community Room.
Carpenter will spin tales and sing songs about dogs during this free, family-friendly event being held in celebration of the Library’s K through five Summer Reading Challenge: “Dig Into Reading.” The program will also include opportunities for young readers to sign up for the Summer Reading Challenge, complete dog-themed crafts, participate in games, have their faces painted and practice their reading skills by reading aloud to a friendly, non-judgmental dog! Ice cream will be served.
This program is open to the public; however the featured stories and activities are most suitable for children ages four and up.
TCPL’s 2013 Summer Reading Programming has been made possible by the Tompkins County Public Library Foundation with the support from the Harmond Foundation, The Gannett Foundation, The Bradford Youth Endowment fund, and by a grant from Federal Library Services and Technology Act funds, awarded to the New York State Library, by the Federal Institute of Museum and Library Services.
