Library to Discuss “Kindred” During Spring Book Club

Tompkins County Public Library will welcome new and returning members of the “4 Seasons Book Club” for a Thursday, April 21 discussion of “Kindred” by Octavia Butler.

This riveting best-seller combines elements of memoir, fantasy and historical fiction to tell the story of “Dana,” an African American woman who is transported in time from 1976 to a life of slavery in antebellum Maryland.

The spring session of the “4 Seasons Book Club” will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Library’s BorgWarner Community Room-West.

Club participation is available online and in-person. Additional 2016 face-to-face discussions are scheduled for June 2 and October 6. Online discussions are ongoing and available through Goodreads, a free website for book lovers.  To register for the online club, visit http://www.goodreads.com.

For more information or to register, contact Adult Services Librarian Teresa Vadakin at (607) 272-4557 extension 272 or tvadakin@tcpl.org.
