Tompkins County Public Library will host a free screening of the award-winning documentary, “Will Eisner: Portrait of a Sequential Artist, Wednesday, March 23 at 6 p.m. in the BorgWarner Community Room-East.
Recognized
as the “godfather of comic book art,” Eisner was an influential artist,
entrepreneur and storyteller whose pioneering spirit and perseverance
revolutionized comic book production and introduced readers to the modern
graphic novel. During his 60-year career, Eisner championed the use of
comics as an educational tool and inspired generations of artists.
“Will
Eisner: Portrait of a Sequential Artist” offers a glimpse into Eisner’s life
and work and includes interviews with creative giants: Kurt Vonnegut, Stan Lee,
Michael Chabon, Jack Kirby and many others.
The
library screening is free and open to the public. For more information,
