Tompkins County Public Library will host journalist and author Daniel Connolly for a reading and signing of “The Book of Isaias: A Child of Hispanic Immigrants Seeks His Own America,” Tuesday, October 18 at 6 p.m. in the BorgWarner Community Room.
An accomplished journalist, Connolly offers a captivating
narrative of the life of Isaias Ramos, an undocumented immigrant, as he works
toward a high school diploma and the elusive American Dream in Memphis,
Tennessee.
Connolly, a Memphis native, is the winner of numerous journalism
awards and has received grants and fellowships from the Pulitzer Center on
Crisis Reporting, the International Center for Journalists and the Fulbright program.
He has reported extensively on Mexican immigration to the southern United
States for media outlets including The Associated Press.
