Tompkins County Public Library invites adults age 65 and older to attend, “To Remember Is to Remake,” an eight-week memoir writing program, beginning Monday, May 1 at 6:30 p.m. in the Library’s BorgWarner Community Room-East.
Facilitated by Paige Eve Chant, this
weekly program will encourage participants to explore
memories and life experiences through inspiration from excerpts of published
memoirs and in-class and at-home writing exercises. Each session will
provide a judgment-free environment for participants to share their work.
Chant earned her master of fine arts degree from the University of
Washington and has taught creative writing classes at her alma mater and at
Seattle Pacific University, the Robinson Center for Young Scholars and the Art
Council of Princeton. In 2012, she earned certification from the National
Council for Creative Aging, as a teaching artist for older adults,
specializing in creative writing.
This series is free, however, space is limited and registration is required. To register, or for more information, contact Teresa Vadakin at tvadakin@tcpl.org.
