Library to Host Downtown Scavenger Hunt

In celebration of Summer Reading 2016, Tompkins County Public Library will host its inaugural “All Around Town Scavenger Hunt,” an opportunity for children, families, teens and adults to get active while exploring downtown Ithaca.

Registered participants will begin the hunt at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 9, in front of the Library’s main entrance and spend up to an hour and a half completing puzzles, solving riddles and completing age-appropriate challenges.

Teams of three to six are invited to join the fun in one of three categories:
·       Kids and Families--The challenges and puzzles at this level will be appropriate for a team made up of family members and young children.
·        Teens--This level will require participants to use their brain and body to solve riddles, puzzles, and physical challenges.
·        Adults--These puzzles and challenges will be more difficult but older teens who want to push themselves are welcome to register in this age group.

This program is free and prizes have been donated by Wegmans, Tompkins County YMCA, Finger Lakes Fitness Center, Buffalo Street Books, T-Shirt Expressions and Body Gear.
