Library to Discuss “Rebecca” During Fall Book Club

Tompkins County Public Library will host a discussion of the Daphne DuMaurier’s classic novel, “Rebecca,” during the fall session of its “4 Seasons Book Club,” Thursday, October 6 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the BorgWarner Community Room-West.

This dark psychological thriller was published in 1938 and adapted for the popular Alfred Hitchcock film of the same name.  It tells the story of a young maid who meets and marries a wealthy widower. Her plans for a life of luxury are foiled when she realizes that she will forever live in the shadow of his deceased wife.

A free screening of the Hitchcock film will take place Wednesday, October 5 at 6 p.m. in the BorgWarner Community Room-East.

Participation in the “4 Seasons Book Club” is available online and in-person. Online discussions are ongoing and by invitation only.  The online “4 Seasons Book Club” is available through Goodreads.com, a "free website for book lovers.”  To register, visit http://www.goodreads.com.
