February 7 is “Take Your Child to the Library Day,” and Tompkins County Public Library is offering four exciting opportunities for children to celebrate.
At
11 a.m. the Library will host “Family Storytime,” with stories, songs and family
fun for all ages. At 2 p.m., children and their families are invited to the
inaugural “Ithaca Guys Read” storytime, featuring guest reader Luvelle Brown,
superintendent of the Ithaca City School District. The fun will continue
at 3:30 p.m. with the monthly-meeting of TCPL’s Mother-Daughter Book Club.
Girls ages 8-12 and the special women in their lives are invited to a
discussion of “Belle Teal” by Ann M. Martin. Volunteers from the “Reader
Is In” program will also be on-hand throughout the day to read and share books.
All
programs are free and open to the public.
On
“Take Your Child to the Library Day,” and every day, children are encouraged to
visit TCPL for new books, audiobooks, movies, music, computers and early
learning stations.
