Tompkins County Public Library is seeking student artists to exhibit their work during the Library’s first mini comic convention, “Tomp-Con.”
Being
held from noon to 4:30 p.m., Saturday, August 29th, “Tomp-Con” will feature
workshops, author/fan talks, a game room, a Super Smash Brothers tournament and
a cosplay fashion show.
Artists,
crafters and visual creatives ages 11 through 19, or entering grades 6 through
12, are encouraged to sign-up to exhibit their work in the convention’s “Artist
Alley.” Artists can register at the Library’s Teen Summer Reading sign-up
table in the Youth Services Department or online at http://tcpl.org/teens/documents/artists-alley.pdf.
Applications must be submitted on or before August 21.
“Tomp-Con”
is being held in conjunction with the Library’s 2015 Teen Summer Reading
Program, “Unmask: Discover the Hero Within.”
Support
for the Library’s Summer Reading Program is provided by the Tompkins County
Public Library Foundation through generous support from the Harmon Foundation,
the Brooks Family Foundation, the Phyllis and Charles Brodhead Memorial Endowed
Fund and the Michael Kammen Children’s Fund.
