Tompkins
County Public Library’s Truth Be Told Non-Fiction Book Club will meet Tuesday, August 4
from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Library’s BorgWarner Community Room for a
discussion of J.R. Moehringer’s acclaimed book, “The Tender Bar.”
This
classic American story of self-invention and escape is suspenseful, wrenching
and achingly funny. It’s the poignant tale of the fierce love between a
single mother and an only son and an unforgettable portrait of a boy’s struggle
to become a man, with the help of a fathering-by-committee provided by characters
from a local bar.
The
Truth Be Told Non-Fiction Book Club is free and open to the public.
Limited copies of the book are available for new and existing Club members at
the Library’s Adult Services Reference Desk.
