Tompkins County Public Library has announced the opening of “It Takes More Than Nostalgia: Celebrating 50 Years of Historic Ithaca and Community Preservation,” a photographic exhibit highlighting key moments and contributions from Historic Ithaca’s 50-year history.
Founded in 1966--in response to the loss of Ithaca’s Old City Hall
building--and with additional historic site demolitions on the horizon,
Historic Ithaca was organized to preserve historic architectural gems in Ithaca
and Tompkins County.
An assortment of artifacts on-loan from Significant Elements,
Historic Ithaca’s architectural salvage and re-use warehouse, are also on display in the Library’s Avenue of the Friends through
the end of June.
