Library Foundation Celebrates Library Lovers Month

Love is in the air at the Library this month as the Tompkins County Public Library Foundation celebrates Library Lovers Month.

Library lovers are invited to express their feelings throughout February by participating in one of the many special events and programs planned to commemorate the month including the 3rd Annual Library Lovers Month Book Fair, prizes for first time donors and those willing to share their personal library stories, and an opportunity for community members to star in their own READ posters.

Throughout the month, patrons who share, in 250 words or less, why they love their library will be entered in a raffle to win a $10 gift certificate to the bookstore of their choice.  All new donors during February will also be included in a special prize drawing.

On Saturday, February 12, patrons will have a chance to feel like stars by becoming cover models for their very own READ posters. Photos will be taken between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM by members of the Cornell Panhellenic Association.  A donation of $10 is suggested for one poster, $5 for additional posters to support the Library.

The 3rd annual Library Lovers Book Fair will take place Friday, February 25 through Sunday, February 27.  Pick up a Library Lovers Button at the Library or present a Book Fair Voucher when shopping at one of the following stores:  Autumn Leaves, Barnes & Noble, The Bookery, Buffalo Street Books, Colophon Books, Comics for Collectors or The Cornell Store. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Library.
