Tompkins County Public Library will close its service desks and public computer stations at 5 p.m., Friday, October 13, to allow for the unveiling of its new teen center and digital lab and community celebration of Director Susan Currie’s retirement.
Public
services will resume at 9:30 a.m. Saturday; however, the public is encouraged
to visit the Library between 5 and 7 p.m., Friday for a first look at the
exciting renovations made possible by the 21st Century Library
Campaign and to recognize Currie for her contributions to TCPL.
This
celebration is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served and
several hands-on activities, including 3-D pen crafts, demonstrations of new
state-of-the-art sound equipment, a photo booth and button-making will be
offered.
