Tompkins County Public Library has announced the selection of “The Passenger” as the October featured film for World Cinema Thursday. The film will be screened October 19, at 5:30 p.m. in the BorgWarner Community Room-East.
“The
Passenger” features Jack Nicholson as David Locke, a road-weary American
journalist sent to cover a conflict in northern Africa. When he discovers the
body of a stranger who looks like him, Locke assumes the dead man’s identity,
only to discover that his doppelganger was an arms dealer being sought by
police and criminals.
Facilitated
by Ron Krieg, World Cinema Thursdays offer a monthly opportunity for movie
lovers to watch and discuss world cinema classics. These free programs will be
held on the third Thursday of each month through December 2017.
Krieg,
a Queens native, is a retired United States Postal Service clerk and a cinema,
photography, history and political science enthusiast. He has been presenting
