Tompkins County Public Library will host “Family, Identity, Life and Death: Writing in Response to “Blasphemy,” a creative writing workshop facilitated by Tompkins County Poet Laureate Irene “Zee” Zahava, Tuesday, October 17 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the BorgWarner Community Room-West.
Being
held in conjunction with TCPL’s 2017 Community Read of Sherman Alexie’s
“Blasphemy: New and Selected Stories,” this free workshop will explore themes
featured in the book and is open to adults who enjoy writing and sharing their
work.
Space
is limited and advance registration required. To register, contact Zahava
directly at zee@twcny.rr.com or (607)
273-4675.
Now in its 15th year, the Community Read
encourages readers to experience the bond of literature by reading and
discussing the same title. Copies of the book are available to borrow from the
Library’s collection and limited copies are available for local book groups and
not-for-profit organizations.
