Tompkins County Public Library and the Finger Lakes Meat Project will host “How to Buy Local Meat,” a free educational program about selecting and purchasing local meat products, April 9 at 6:30 p.m. in the Library's BorgWarner Community Room.
A program of Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County,
the Finger Lakes Meat Project offers resources designed to expand the freezer
trade by connecting farmers and consumers.
“How to Buy Local Meat” will offer information to help potential
buyers make informed choices and learn about where to find meats that best fit
the needs of their families. Participants will also learn more about the
Finger Lakes Meat Project, the Ithaca Meat Locker and MeatSuite.com, an online
directory of local farms selling meat in bulk.
This program is free and open to the public; however
registration is recommended. To register, call (607) 272-2292.
