Tompkins County Public Library will launch its 2016 Summer Reading Challenge at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 25 with a family-friendly party starring Moreland the Magician.
David
Moreland’s high-energy, 45-minute show uses magic, Vaudeville slapstick,
storytelling, and audience participation to celebrate the wonderful world of
reading and the magic found in books. After the performance, children will be
treated to balloon animals from Cayuga Twister.
This
program is being held in celebration of the Library’s Summer Reading Challenge,
“On Your Mark, Get Set… READ!” Attendees will have an opportunity to
register for the Summer Reading Challenge and enjoy crafts and ice cream.
The
program will be held in the Library’s BorgWarner Community Room and is free and
open to the public.
Support for the Summer Reading Program is provided by the Tompkins County Public Library Foundation through contributions from the Brooks Family Foundation and an anonymous donor.
