Tompkins County Public Library invites teen gamers to join “Fables and Tales” a four-day intensive game development program beginning Monday, July 25 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the BorgWarner Community Room.
Being held in conjunction with the Library’s 2016 Teen Summer
Reading Program, “Fables and Tales” will offer intense role playing games,
tabletop and card gaming, while helping participants create an epic tale or
heroic fable using either Magic: The Gathering, Dungeons and Dragons and
Pathfinder, or BattleTech and Card Wars.
During this free program, young adults will have an opportunity to
create characters, worlds, plots, challenges, puzzles and more. At the
conclusion of the program, participants will have created an entire module that can be shared and played with
friends.
Since each session builds on the next, participants are encouraged
to attend all four sessions.
Registration is required, and participants must choose whether
they will be working with a CCG, RPG or tabletop game at the time of
registration. To register, visit the Library’s events calendar at tcpl.org or http://bit.ly/1tAGTjA.
Snacks will be provided, but participants should bring their own
lunch (refrigeration is available).
For more information, contact Game Leader Joah Bierkamper at jtang@tcpl.org or Teen
Services Librarian Regina DeMauro at rdemauro@tcpl.org or (607) 272-4557 extension 274.
This program is made possible by the Tompkins County Public
Library Foundation with support from the Phyllis and Charles Brodhead Memorial
Fund.
