Tompkins County Public Library invites adults of all ages to exercise their minds and bodies this summer by joining “Belly Dancing Basics With Regina,” a four-part introduction to belly dancing.
Being held each Wednesday in July from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the
Library’s BorgWarner Community Room, Belly Dancing Basics is being offered in
conjunction with the Library’s 2016 Adult Summer Reading Program, “Exercise
Your Mind at TCPL.”
This fun-filled, judgment-free program will be facilitated by TCPL
Teen Services Librarian Regina DeMauro and feature—through beginner-level
movements--an introduction to Middle Eastern dance.
DeMauro was introduced to the art of belly dancing as a teen and
has been performing locally for the past four years. She has conducted
workshops at Ithaca College and the Wellspring Gathering and offered one-on-one
instruction.
This program is free and open to the public. Participants
are encouraged to consult a physician before beginning any new exercise
program.
