Tompkins County Public Library has announced the selection of “Blind Chance” as the July featured film for World Cinema Thursday, July 20, at 5:30 p.m. in the BorgWarner Community Room-East.
Directed
by Krzysztof Kieslowski, “Blind Chance” is a Polish film following three
separate, successive storylines related to a man running after a train and how
a single, seemingly-ordinary event could influence the rest of his life.
Originally filmed in 1981, it was suppressed by Polish authorities until 1987.
Facilitated
by Ron Krieg, World Cinema Thursdays offer a monthly opportunity for movie
lovers to watch and discuss world cinema classics. These free programs will be
held on the third Thursday of each month through December 2017.
Krieg,
a Queens native, is a retired United States Postal Service clerk and a cinema,
photography, history and political science enthusiast. He has been presenting
