Leslie Daniels, author of the bestselling novel, “Cleaning Nabokov’s House,” has been selected to serve as the inaugural reader for the Tompkins County Public Library Foundation’s 4th Annual READATHON, Friday, September 23 at noon outside the Library’s main entrance.
Daniels

of the Tompkins County Public Library in a 24-hour celebration of the freedom
to read. Each reader will read aloud from the book or books of their

collections.
“The
READATHON is a tremendous testament to the value our community places on its
public library,” Suzanne Smith Jablonski, executive director of the Tompkins
County Public Library Foundation, said. “We are delighted to have Leslie
Daniels champion this cause by sharing her inspiring love of reading.”
Other
readers include, Lee Rayburn of Cayuga Radio Group’s Morning Newswatch, author
Helena Maria Viramontes, Tompkins County Historian Carol Kammen, City of Ithaca firefighter Thomas Basher, Jr. and senatorial candidate Leslie Danks Burke.
Library
Director Susan Currie will fill the final time slot, reading from 11:30 a.m. to
