Tompkins County Public Library will host the final program in its celebration of Summer Reading 2017 with “Reading, Rhythm and Rhyme,” a family-friendly, interactive program facilitated by Judy Stock, Monday, August 21 at 11 a.m. in the Thaler/Howell Programming Room.
“Reading,
Rhythm and Rhyme” combines Stock’s musical talents and love of reading and
encourages children to nurture their imaginations by exploring the world of
books. Stock will use poetry, tongue twisters, songs and instruments to help
the audience discover the joy of reading.
Stock
has been a musician for more than 30 years, sharing her talents with audiences
across the United States, including annual performances at the New Orleans Jazz
and Heritage Festival. She has created, produced and starred in two children’s
television shows, “Jammin’ With Judy and Jerry” and “Miss. Judy Presents: Music
and Motion,” and teaches early literacy through music in dozens of libraries,
schools, churches and festivals each year. For more information, visit http://www.judystock.com/programs.html.
This
program is free and open to children and their caregivers. For more
