Tompkins County Public Library, in partnership with Lifelong Learning, will present a three-part series on accessing the Library’s digital resources, Thursdays, September 14, 21 and 28 from 10 a.m. to noon at Lifelong’s Court Street headquarters.
These
free programs are designed to help older adults use smartphones, tablets, Apple
products and personal computers to download books, magazines, music and videos
from the Library’s collection.
Each
class will focus on a different tool, with the September 14 session being
devoted to OverDrive, the Library’s platform for providing access to thousands
of free eBooks. The September 21 session will offer instruction on downloading
dozens of full-content magazines through RBdigital, and the final session will
introduce Hoopla, a streaming service for audiobooks, music, eBooks and videos.
Participants
should bring their library card from TCPL or another Finger Lakes Library
System Library. Library staff will also be available to register new
cardholders before each session. Valid photo identification is required to
sign-up for a card.
