Tompkins
County Public Library will host author and educator Elayne Clift for a reading
and discussion of her latest book, “TAKE CARE: Tales, Tips and Love from Women
Caregivers,” Tuesday, September 12 at 6 p.m. in the Thaler/Howell Programming
Room.
Published
in June, “Take Care” is a moving collection of prose and poetry written by 21
women who have experienced the challenges and triumphs of caregiving. It offers
support and validation for women who are, or have, served as caregivers for aging-parents,
ill family members, spouses, children or friends.
Clift
is an award-winning writer and journalist, whose work has appeared in The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, The Christian Science Monitor, The Chronicle of Higher Education, Vermont Magazine and
numerous other periodicals and anthologies. A Vermont
Humanities Council Scholar, she is a trainer and speaker on numerous topics.
