Library to Host Children’s Writing Workshops With Anne Mazer

Tompkins County Public Library will host award-winning children’s author Anne Mazer for “Secrets of the Library,” a free, two-part writing workshop for children, Sundays, October 1 and October 8, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. in the Thaler/Howell Programming Room.

Participants are encouraged to bring a favorite notebook, pen, curiosity and imagination to these fun-filled programs, which are perfect for students ages 8 through 12. Each workshop will allow writers to explore and be inspired by various locations within Library.

Mazer is the author of 44 books for young readers, including the picture book classic, “The Salamander Room,” the bestselling “Amazing Days of Abby Hayes” series and “Sister Magic.” She is the co-author of the acclaimed guide, “Spilling Ink: A Young Writer’s Handbook,” which has been widely used in classrooms, workshops and by aspiring writers of all ages.

To register for one or both workshops, contact the Library’s Youth Services Department at (607) 272-4557 extension 275 or visit, http://www.libraryinsight.com/EventSignUp.asp?t=704324125&jx=nnv&lmx=%C7j%60%23%AD%AB or http://www.libraryinsight.com/EventSignUp.asp?t=114069272&jx=nnv&lmx=%C7j%60%23%AD%AA.
