Tompkins County Public Library will launch its 2017 Summer Reading Challenge at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 24 with a family-friendly party starring Moreland the Magician.
This year’s summer reading theme is “Build a Better World,” and
during this special program participants will help our magical contractor, “Foreman
Dave” complete a project at the library by helping him recover his missing
blueprints using magic.
This high-energy, 45-minute show will be filled with magic,
comedy, mystery, puppetry, and several opportunities for audience interaction.
After the performance, children will be treated to balloon sculptures from
Cayuga Twister.
This program is being held in celebration of the Library’s Summer
Reading Challenge, “Build a Better World.” Attendees will have an opportunity
to register for the Summer Reading Challenge and enjoy crafts and ice cream.
The program will be held in the Library’s BorgWarner Community
Room and is free and open to the public.
The Summer Reading Program is supported by a grant from the
Bernard Carl and Shirley Rosen Library Fund of the Community Foundation of
Tompkins County, made possible through the Tompkins County Public Library
Foundation.
