Tompkins County Public Library will host a free screening of “I Am Not Your Negro,” Wednesday, June 7, 2017 at 5:45 p.m. in the BorgWarner Community Room.
Directed by Raoul Peck and narrated by Samuel
L. Jackson, “I Am Not Your Negro” is based on James Baldwin’s unfinished
manuscript, “Remember This House.” It explores the history of racism in the
United States through Baldwin’s memories of civil rights leaders Medgar Evers,
Malcolm X and Martin Luther King, Jr. and shares his personal observations on
American history.
This screening is free and open to the
public. For more information, contact Tom Burns at tburns@tcpl.org.
