In celebration of “Build a Better World,” Tompkins County Public Library’s 2017 Summer Reading Program for teens, the Library will host a free screening of the acclaimed film, “Hidden Figures,” Friday, June 30 at 5 p.m. in the BorgWarner Community Room.
“Hidden
Figures” brings to life the true story of the black female mathematicians whose
computational abilities changed the course of aeronautical engineering and
helped propel NASA to victory against their Russian counterparts and the United
States to the moon.
This
movie has been selected for a teen audience, however, parents are encouraged to
review ratings before allowing their children to attend. The Library will not
restrict teen admittance based on age or maturity. All adults must be
accompanied by a teen.
TCPL’s Tween and
Teen Summer Reading Program encourages students to earn free books and prizes
by tracking the time they spend reading. Participants will receive a free book
just for registering.
