Children ages three through ten are invited to join the Tompkins County Public Library and yoga instructor Diane Hamilton for a special, weekly “Yoga Storytime,” Wednesdays, July 12 through August 30 at 10 a.m., in the Library’s Thaler/Howell Programming Room.
“Yoga Storytime” will delight active young book lovers by bringing
favorite stories to life with yoga poses. No yoga experience or mat is
required, but comfortable clothing is recommended.
Hamilton has been teaching yoga for children since 2003 and offers
individual and family sessions designed to encourage children to explore
consciousness and connection with self, society and nature. She has trained
with the Yoga Center for Columbia, Tai Sophia Institute, Sanskrit Institute,
Radian Child, YoKid, Yoga4Classrooms and Go Grounded.
These 45-minute programs are free and open to the public and is
being held in conjunction with the Library’s 2017 Summer Reading Challenge,
“Build a Better World.”
For more information, contact the Library’s Youth Services
Department at (607) 272-4557 extension 275.
The
Library’s Summer Reading Program is made possible by the Tompkins County Public
